Welcome to "Dholak Lessons with Devin (Intro to Dholak: Version 1)" your gateway to mastering the art of dholak accompaniment. This online, learn-at-your-own-pace curriculum is designed to prepare you for practical dholak accompaniment by teaching you an essential 54 thekas, 24 mukdas, and 2 laggis.

The initial lessons at the beginning of the curriculum are designed to teach anyone how to play Dholak from scratch.

Once past the introductory lessons, it immediately dives into practical accompaniment. The Thekas, Mukdas & Laggis progress from a beginner level, through intermediate, professional, and advanced. 

By the end of this curriculum, you will be equipped with the material and knowledge to play 54 Bhajan Thekas in Keherwa Taal / 24 Mukdas & 2 Laggis. These are all crucial, practical, and important lessons that have been intentionally cultivated by Devin to efficiently bring you in to the world of practical dholak accompaniment.

When you enroll, you will receive an email that allows you to unenroll at anytime you choose. Once you do so before the next billing cycle, you will not be charged for any future months. This entire curriculum takes about 1.5 - 3 years of weekly practice to complete for the average student, with time off & unforeseen events considered. Ideally intended for ages 6 - 65.

Versions 2 & 3 of the curriculum are currently being developed and will include a thorough, practical focus on other taals + West Indian accompaniment. Those versions will be available at a higher cost and will also include include all the material of this version (version 1) + the added material.

The course is structured into seasons and episodes, with an average of 10 episodes per season, that you can view at anytime you'd like, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging learning experience. The first module includes all the necessary documents for you to download and follow along, setting you up for success on your musical journey.
