This is a devotional, low octave dayan meant to sound like a Pakhawaj. It is a larger than average Tabla with the shell being closer to the size of a traditional ancient Jori Dayan. This particular dayan has a beautiful floral encarved red sheesham shell.The Nylon straps also make adjusting the tension via straps easier to work with than their traditional leather srapped counterparts.
