The Surjyoti™ Red Sheesham Dayan is a handcrafted tabla drum built by respected artisan Mohd. Sharif, combining traditional craftsmanship with a warm, expressive tonal character. Made from quality red sheesham wood and tuned in the versatile D#/E scale range, this 5.5" dayan delivers clear articulation, balanced resonance, and a comfortable playing response suitable for practice, accompaniment, and general performance use. Its rich wood grain and traditional hand-tied construction reflect the timeless artistry of North Indian percussion making. This dayan remains fully playable and functional, though it currently exhibits a slight buzzing sound that may benefit from minor adjustment depending on the player's preference.
