Crafted from dense khair wood and tuned to C#, this 5.5" professional-quality dayan is prized for its exceptional tone, outstanding resonance, and rich tonal character. Weighing an impressive 16.2 lbs, the substantial shell produces excellent sustain, projection, and tonal stability while maintaining crisp articulation and responsiveness. Its beautiful dark wood grain and traditional construction make it a striking addition to any tabla setup. Ideal for accompaniment, practice, recording, and performance, this dayan delivers a powerful and expressive sound. Please note that the drum exhibits a slight hiss, which has been reflected in the pricing, while still offering excellent overall musicality and playability.
