Inspired by the warmth and richness of a golden melody, the Sunehri Raag Sharif Dayan is a 5⅝" C# instrument crafted by renowned tabla maker Mohd. Sharif from beautifully grained red sheesham wood. Its slightly larger size produces a full, rounded tonal character with excellent projection, balanced resonance, and crisp articulation, making it equally at home in classical accompaniment, bhajans, kirtan, solo practice, and general performance. The red sheesham shell contributes warmth and depth to every stroke while maintaining clarity across the playing surface. Very minor cosmetic blemishes may be present but are purely aesthetic and have minimal impact on tone, tuning stability, or overall playability. A distinctive Sharif-crafted dayan offering musical richness, traditional craftsmanship, and timeless character.
