This Chetram Gill–crafted dholak is carved from solid red sheesham wood with deep, flowing hand-engraved patterns that allow the shell to breathe and resonate naturally. Measuring 20" in length and weighing 15.8 lbs, it sits in a balanced middle ground—offering both substance and responsiveness—making it versatile across solo, ensemble, and live performance settings. The tonal character is open yet controlled, with warm lows and articulate mids that project cleanly without harshness. Traditional rope detailing complements the carved body while the overall construction reflects refined craftsmanship, durability, and tonal depth expected from a premium Chetram instrument.
