This West Indian–style dholak is crafted from solid mango wood and finished in a classic black velvet wrap, producing a deep, balanced bass with clear, responsive highs. Measuring 19.25" in length and weighing 14.2 lbs, it offers excellent comfort, projection, and control for extended playing sessions. This configuration features normal dholak skins for a fuller, more traditional feel, with very minor cosmetic blemishes on the skin only that do not affect sound or performance. The rope lacing is purely aesthetic, maintaining a clean traditional profile, while metal bolt tuning manages all pitch adjustments for stable, reliable tuning across varying environments.
